Miau, hört ihr mich schreien.../ Meow, hear me roar...

Passend zur Fastnacht/Karneval/Fasching oder wie das sonst so heißt, kann ich euch mein Kostüm präsentieren. :) Und wie es der Titel schon sagt, MIAU!!
It is carnival time here in Germany ( you like that time or you hate that time, I don't like it.) and that means it is time for dressing up an d beeing silly... Or something like that.

Ich wollte schon lange mal als Katze gehen ( eigentlich bin ich ja ein Ozelot, falls das noch nicht aufgefallen ist :) ), da ich aber in einem Catsuit wie Catwoman eine absolut miserable Figur mache, wurde es ein Kleid...
I always wanted to dress up like a cat or catwoman, but I really look horible in a catsuit so I decided to make myself a dress. :) ( and to be honest, I am not even a cat. I am an OZELOT )

Als Ricarda den Schnitt Winterhude präsentierte wusste ich sofort, der wird umfunktioniert zu meinem Kostüm. Gesagt getan und gleich losgelegt. Wie meine Winterhude aussehen sollte, das wusste ich eigentlich gleich. ( wow, dass ich das mal sagen würde hätte ich auch nicht gedacht.)
Right after Christmas Ricarda presented a new pattern on her blog. Winterhude. A very versatile pattern. one pattern and 3 options - that's what I like. :)

Meine ersten Probleme hatte ich aber schon am Ausschnitt, was aber weniger an der Anleitung von Ricarda, als an dem absolut undehnbaren Stoff lag, den ich unbedingt als Halsbündchen haben wollte. Aber nach einigen Tüfteleien hatte ich das geschafft. - Ganz perfekt ist der Ausschnitt immer noch nicht, aber durch das Material ging es einfach nicht anders.
Like usual not that difficult to sew. I just had some problems with my neckline. I wanted to use the same fabric for the neckline that I had for my skirt. Well, the thing was, that material was absolutely not stretchy and I had to try some time until I made it. :) Ok, I made it but it is way from perfect...

Eine weitere Hürde war der Katzenschwanz, den ich am Kostüm befestigen musste. Erst einmal hatte ich absolut keinen Plan wie dieser auszusehen hatte und dann musste ich mir ja noch eine Lösung überlegen, wie ich den so hin bekomme, dass er mir nicht permanent im Weg rum baumelt - so von wegen sitzen im Auto oder auch im Kindi. :)
Next thing I had to think about was the tail. How long, how big and where should I put it? What can I do that it won't be haging around the whole time? - so it is out of the way when I sit down. - I talked to a coworker and friend of mine and we found a solution for taht. Wire!!

Als das Kleid dann fertig war und es so an meiner Schneiderpuppe hing, dachte ich noch, au weija, ich glaube da hast du dich aber ganz schön verschätzt. Da passt du im Lebtag nicht rein. - Aber was soll ich sagen, das Bild an der Puppe hat getäuscht, alles sitzt so, wie es sein soll...
When the dress was finsihed - and I was so proud of it - I put it up my tailoring doll I was very shocked. It didn't fit the doll, it was too tight. Oh dear I thought, I have to do it all over again... But when I tried it on myself I was relieved It fit!!!

Und extra für euch bin ich dann ganz Katzenartig auch in einen  Baum gekletter. :)

And just for you I climbed up a tree. :)

Um das ganze noch zu verkomplettieren ( sagt man das so? ) habe ich noch Stulpen genäht - so kann ich meine Schiene einfach etwas tarnen - und dann natürlich noch die Öhrchen. Da ich keine Haarreifen wollte, musste ich mir was anderes überlegen- wie gut das es kleine Schwestern gibt, die so etwas schon einmal gemacht haben. :)
To give it all a finishing touch I sewes some cuffs - so I can hide my rail and of course I needed my cat ears. :)

Das Kleid Winterhude habe ich nicht das letzte mal genäht. Da wird noch eine Version für den Alltagsgebrauch entstehen. :) Ich habe auch schon eine Idee wie die dann aussehen wird. :)
