Winter is coming...

Ich glaube, jeder "GoT" Fan weiß nun ganz genau wo uns unser Trip als nächstes hinführte.

Zu meiner Schande muss ich gestehen, dass ich keine einzige Folge von GoT gesehen habe und somit auch mit vielem, was den Hype um diese Serie angeht, nicht so wirklich nachvollziehen konnte.

I guess every GoT fan knows where we went next. I have to admit I never watched a single episode of GoT and therefore couldn't really understand the hype around that TV show...

Mein erster Eindruck von Dubrovnik war auch ganz und gar und total nicht positiv. Es war die Stadt, die ich unbedingt sehen wollte, die mich am meisten interessiert hatte und dann kam das.
Ich denke das hatte auch damit zu tun das zu diesem Zeitpunkt ca 4 Kreuzfahrtschiffe vor Anker lagen und gefühlt 1 000 000 Menschen auf einmal in die Altstadt strömten. Ich hatte den Eindruck als würde ein Schwarm Heuschrecken einfallen und so war ich schneller aus der Altstadt draußen, als mir lieb war.

Dubrovnik was the town I was looking forward that much. I always wanted to visit that city and finally I was there. - And guess what, it was the city I liked the least...

I think it had to do with the fact that at the time we arrived in Dubrovnik about 4 cruise ships were anchored and it felt like 1000000 people at once poured into the city. I had  the impression that a swarm of locuts came in, so I was faster out of the old town than I in...

Gegen Abend, als die meisten Busse wieder in Richtung Hafen abgefahren waren, habe ich der Stadt noch einmal eine Chance gegeben und mich auf Erkundungstour begeben.
Es war nicht mehr so viel los und wir konnten uns die Stadt genauer ansehen. Am besten geht das natürlich von oben und so sind wir auf die Stadtmauer und haben einen Spaziergang gemacht und die schöne Aussicht genossen...
Torward evening, when most of the buses had left for the harbor, I once again gave the city a chance and set out on a sightseeing tour.
There was not that much going on and we were able to take a closer look at the city. The best way to do that is of course from the top and so we went up the city walls and had a walk. And we were able to enjoy a beautiful view...

Leider hatte ich meine Krone zu Hause vergessen, aber ich habe trotzdem schon einmal auf dem Eisernen Thron Probe gesessen. :) Ich habe übrigens alle besiegt und der Thron ist jetzt meiner. :)
Unfortunately, I forgot my crown at home, but still, I gave it a try and tryed out the Iron Throne. :) By the way, I defeated everyone even the king in the north, so the throne is mine now!! :)

Und wenn man richtig viel Glück hat, dann findet man auch solche verlassenen Gässchen. :)
If you are lucky you find some lonely places in the city...

Auch wenn die Stadt durch die Massen an Touristen viel von ihrem Charme verloren hat, ist die Stadt doch sehr schön. Und für GoT Fans ein absolutes Muss...

I guess Dubrovnik is the place for any GoT fan. In my opinion the city lost lots of it's charme because of all the touritst and I just hope that this will change again so Dubrovnik becomes this wonderful place again it used to be.

Ich habe mal wieder mit meinen Stempeln und Stempelfarben gespielt und habe eine Geburtstagskarte gewerkelt.

What do you do if it is cold and rainy on the weekend? Yes, you sit at your craft table and start crafting. :)

I ried out some new techniques, well new techniques to me. :) 

Ich habe mich an einer etwas maskulineren Karte versucht. ( Männerkarten sind ja bekanntlich nicht so meine Stärke. :) )

I made a male birthday card and must say I really like it. :) and you know how hard it is for me to create a male card. :)

Und da auf dem Blog von Scrapping4funChallenges gerade die Challenge Geburtstag läuft, reiche ich meine Karte hier ein.

Bosnien und Herzegowina/ Bosnia and Herzegowina

Bosnien und Herzegowina, das ist ein unglaublich langer Name für ein Land, das recht klein ist. Aber ein Land, das sicher noch von vielen unterschätzt wird. 

Ich meine, ich hätte mir nie einfallen lassen Urlaub in Bosnien und Herzegowina zu machen. Wenn ich bedenke, dass vor 25 Jahren in diesem Land Krieg herrschte und irgendwie noch immer diese Bilder im Kopf hat...
Bosnia and Herzegowina, what a long name for such a small country. A country which is underrated by most everybody.
And I have to admit if it hadn't been for this roadtrip I would have never visited that wonderful place.
I mean 25 years ago you had pictures of war all over the media and still you have those pictures in mind...

Aber in den 25 Jahren hat sich sehr viel getan und das Land ist unglaublich schön was die Landschaft angeht. Und die Menschen hier sind freundlich.

But in 25 years can happen a lot and the country has changed. You have a wonderful landscape to look at and very welcoming and friendly people...

Es war eine sehr lange Fahrt durch das Land, bis wir dann endlich in der Hauptstadt Sarajevo angekommen sind. 

Sarajevo ist eine interessante Stadt, auch wenn ich nicht so begeistert von ihr war, wie von Zagreb. Ich bin froh darüber die Stadt kennengelernt zu haben, denn sie hat wirklich so einiges zu bieten.

Sarajevo ist ein Schmelzpunkt der Kulturen, ich glaube, ich habe noch nie so viele Kulturen auf einmal gesehen und das in Einträchtigkeit zusammen.

It was a long drive from the National Park until we reached Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegowina.

Sarajavo is a interesting city but it didn't impress me as much as Zagreb did. I can't even tell you why.

Maybe because it was so completely different than everything I have seen so far. 

Sarajevo is a melting pot of cultures. I guess I haven't seen so many different cultures in one place before... And they all live in harmony together...

Da hat man die Kirchen, die den christlichen Glauben widerspiegeln und dreht man sich um, hat man einen unglaublichen Blick auf eine wunderschöne Moschee.

You find churches to resemble the Christian faith and than you turn around to look at a wonderful mosque...

Wenn man die Innenstadt betritt, bekommt man das Gefühl, man taucht in eine komplett andere Welt ein, alles ist so anders. Die Innenstadt gleicht einem orientalischen Bazar - kleine Lädchen und Cafés - überall riecht es nach Kaffee und Wasserpfeife...
When entering the old town of Sarajevo you get the impression to arrive in a complete different world. Everything is so different. 
The old town is more like an oriental bazaar. Small shops and cafes and you can smell coffee and hookah...

Doch hier sind die Spuren des letzten Krieges noch zu sehen. Die Häuser, die noch nicht saniert sind, haben überall Einschusslöcher oder sind zerstört.
In ganz Sarajevo findet man die sogenannten "Sarajevos Rosen". Die Geschichte dazu lässt einen mehr als nachdenklich werden.
Überall da, wo zwischen 1992 und 1995 Menschen durch Granatenanschlägen ums Leben gekommen sind, hat man die Schäden mit roter Farbe aufgegossen.
But you can still see the traces of the last war. Houses that are not renovated yet have bullet holes or are destroyed.
And you can find "the roses of Sarajevo" all over town. Wherever people were killed by grenade strikes between 1992 and 1995, the damage was red-painted.

Im osmanisch geprägten Viertel Bascarsija fühlt man sich fast wie auf einem türkischen Markt.
The Ottoman quarter of Bascarsija is almost like a Turkish market.

In dem Viertel ist das Essen auch türkisch angehaucht - und es war so richtig lecker.
You can find many different types of food in this quarter - we tried Turkish food and it was so yummy...

Die ewige Flamme.

Durch die wunderschöne Landschaft Bosniens ging es am nächsten Tag weiter in Richtung Süden. Immer schön an der Nerevata entlang.

Next day we went on through the wonderful landscape of Bosnia and Herzegowina. 

Unser nächstes Ziel hieß Mostar - und das war wieder eine Stadt ganz nach meinem Geschmack. Die Altstadt mit ihren Gässchen, man hat das Gefühl in eine ganz andere Welt einzutauchen.
Our next destination was Mostar - that was a city, I fell in love with.

Das wohl bekannteste Bauwerk von Mostar. Die Brücke ist das Symbol für den Wiederaufbau und gab der Stadt ihren Namen.

Probably the most famous building in Mostar - the bridge. The bridge is the symbol of reconstruction and gave the city its name.

Auch in dieser Stadt sind die Spuren des Krieges noch allgegenwärtig. Zerstörte Gebäude neben neu aufgebauten. Aber gerade dieser Kontrast macht die Stadt Mostar zu einem besonderen Ort, macht einen aber auch unglaublich nachdenklich...

Even in this city, the traces of the war are still omnipresent. Destroyed buildings next to rebuilt. But this contrast makes the city of Mostar a special place....

Und super leckeres Essen gibt es hier. Wir haben es uns gut gehen lassen. :)
And the food was sooooooo good. We just had a great time there.

Auch abends ist diese Stadt unglaublich reizvoll.
Even at night the city is so wonderful. It felt like a fairytale...

Wenn einer eine Reise tut... / Holidays, here I come

... dann kann er was erzählen. Ja, ich war mal wieder im Urlaub. :) Und dieses Mal war es so ganz anders als ursprünglich geplant.

Yes, I was on vacation again. 

We actually planned to visit a Spanish Island for a couple of days. But we didn't find what we were looking for and so we ended up doing something completely different.

We went on a roadtrip again. 2 countries, 9 cities, 745 miles in 9 days - sounds crazy? Not at all, it was wonderful, exhausting sometimes but we had breathtaking views and a wonderful time...

Die Idee war, ein paar sonnige Tage auf einer spanischen Insel zu verbringen. Etwas Sightseeing und etwas relaxen - nun, aus den paar Tagen spanische Insel hat sich dann eine ganz andere Reise entwickelt. 

Es wurde eine Rundreise, aber so gar nicht in der Richtung in der wir uns sonst bewegen. Insgesamt 1200km Fahrtstrecke, 9 Städte und 2 Länder - und das alles in 9 Tagen. Klingt nach sehr viel? War es auch, aber es war auch unbeschreiblich schön und erlebnisreich.

Unsere Reise führte uns dieses Mal nach Kroatien und Bosnien und Herzegowina. 2 unbeschreiblich schöne Länder mit einer unglaublich schönen Landschaft, aber auch einer traurigen Vergangenheit...

Our trip took us to Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegowina. Two countries I know more or less nothing about or better knew about...

Heute nehme ich euch mit nach Zagreb und an die Plitvicer Seen, die ersten 2 Stationen unserer Reise.

Today I take you to ou first 2 destinations on our trip. Zagreb and the plitvice lakes.

Von Zagreb wusste ich bis dato in etwa so viel, wie etwa das es die Hauptstadt von Kroatien ist. Und das war es dann auch schon - nicht wirklich viel, ich weiß, aber Zagreb war auch nie ein Ziel, das auf meiner Liste mit Reisezielen aufgetaucht ist...

I have to be honest. All I knew about Zagreb was it is the capital of Croatia. That was it. I know, very poor indead.

Auf dieser Reise habe ich festgestellt, das Zagreb eine unglaublich faszinierende Stadt ist. Eine recht alte Stadt, die aber sehr Modern daher kommt. Alte Gebäude und Neubauten reihen sich harmonisch in das Stadtbild. - Eine Stadt, die es mir angetan hat und dessen Zauber ich recht schnell erlegen bin. :)

What I learned first was, that the people in Croatia are very freindly, welcoming and that is exactly what I felt in Zagreb - you are welcome here. 

Zagreb is actually a very old town but when you visit that town you get a complete different impression. Zagreb is a very modern town - and very charming. 

You have old and new in a great balance. 

I fell under it's spell in no time...

Obwohl Zagreb eine sehr trubelige Stadt ist, findet man doch auch seine Ruhepole und wunderschöne Fleckchen Erde...

Like every town Zagreb is quite busy, but you find many spots to relax and calm down...

Die Krawatte war in Kroatien allgegenwärtig...

They are very pround of theit ties... 

Einer der schönsten Orte den wir in Zagreb besucht haben war Zagreb 360. Eine Bar mit einem atemberaubenden Blick über die gesamte Stadt.

One of my most favorite places in Zagreb was Zagreb 360. A bar with a wonderful view of the city.

Und eher untypisch für mich, wir waren abends recht lang unterwegs, so dass wir auch mal die Stadt "bei Nacht" betrachten konnten...

And this time we did something that is not typical for us. We stayed out until we had Zagreb by night. It is even more beautiful than during daytime...

Ich muss sagen, ich bin froh, dass ich diese Stadt besucht habe, denn sie ist wirklich ganz bezaubernd und ein Besuch hier lohnt sich auf alle Fälle.

I am really glad I was able to visit that beautiful town. If you get the chance, visit it, it is worth it. :)

Am nächsten Tag ging es für uns dann direkt weiter zu den Plitvicer Seen. Hier wurden unter anderem die Winnetou Filme in den 60ger Jahren gedreht. 

Next day our trip took us to the plitvice lakres, a National Park. During the 1960th movies like Winnetou were filmed there.

Wir haben den Nationalpark nach Empfehlung unseres Hotels erst am späten Nachmittag besucht und ich bin froh, dass wir das so gemacht haben. Der Park ist unglaublich stark besucht und ich glaube er hätte mir sonst durch die Massen an Touristen gar nicht gefallen.

We visited the National Park in the late afternoon and I am glad I took that advice from the hotel, otherwise I would have been very dissapointed.

During the day loads of people visit the park and it is very, very crowded. If you go in the late afternoon you might have not enough time to see the whole park but there are less people and you have enough time to enjoy the beautiful landscape...

So hatten wir etwas weniger Trubel und die Temperaturen waren auch angenehm...

Der Veliki Slap

Like the Veliki Slap - the big waterfall.

Den Schatz im Silbersee haben wir leider nicht finden können, aber der Besuch hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt. Die Landschaft ist unglaublich schön und die Seen und Wasserfälle unglaublich beeindruckend.

Und mit diesen Bildern verabschiede ich mich für heute. Beim nächsten Mal nehme ich euch mit auf die nächste Etappe unserer Reise - Bosnien und Herzegowina.

Laboe/ Laboe - here we go again

Das der Pech&Schwefel Schnitt Laboe mein persönlicher Liebling ist, ist inzwischen glaube ich hinreichend bekannt. :) Ich weiß nicht wie viele Varianten ich von diesem Oberteil im Schrak hängen habe, ich weiß nur, ich trage diesen Schnitt unglaublich gerne.

I know, I know, this is my # 7 or 8 but what can I say? I just love that pattern and I didn't have a white version of it. :) And every girl should have a white tunic in her closet, don't you think?

Was mir aber noch gefehlt hat war eine schlichte, weiße Laboe. Naja, jetzt fehlt sie mir nicht mehr. :)

Dieses mal genäht aus einem schlichten weißen Stoff. Ich meine es ist auch Viskose, aber etwas glänzender und sowas von flutschig - da hat das Nähen nicht wirklich Spaß gemacht muss ich gestehen.

I can't even tell what kind of fabric this is, all I can say is it gave me a hard time sewing it. - very slippery indead...

Aber ich liebe sie und freue mich schon darauf sie zu tragen. :)

But I love it like the other ones...
