Instead of taking pictures of my new dress in sunny Andalusia, I have only pics we took in my parents garden. Anyway, the weather was nice, I had the camera with me and I was wearing my new dress - so why not...

Ich musste mal wieder ein neues Schnittmuster ausprobieren. - ok, neu ist es nicht wirklich, es war Ewigkeiten auf meiner Festplatte, aber ich hatte immer irgendwie Angst vor dem Schnitt. 

Die Rede ist vom Schnitt Gloria von Pattydoo. Vor dem Knoten hatte ich immer großen Respekt und dann auch die Angst davor, dass es am Ende nicht gut aussehen könnte...

Nun, ich habe es getan und bin ganz begeistert.

I tired out a new sewing pattern - ok, not new new but I never tried it before. I guess I had it here for at least a year. I was to scared to try it - I feared the neckline and the knot... 

The pattern I am talking about is Gloria from Pattydoo. 

Den Stoff habe ich schon etwas länger hier bei mir liegen gehabt. Was ich eigentlich mal daraus nähen wollte kann ich schon gar nicht mehr sagen, aber das Muster war so schön frisch und sommerlich...
I had the fabric for ages, I always liked it because it reminded me of summer. :) And now I am totally happy that it turned out that nice. 

 An und für sich war es auch gar nicht so schwer dieses Kleid zu nähen. Der Knoten war wirklich das schwerste an dem ganzen, ich weiß gar nicht wie oft ich diese Stelle im Nähvideo angeschaut habe. Aber wenn man mal diese Hürde gemeistert hat, dann ist alles andere ein Kinderspiel. :)
In the end it wasn't that hard to sew the dress. Once you are done with the knot, everything else is just a walk in the park. :) Ok, don't ask me how many times I watched the instructions on the video...

 Das schöne an Gloria ist, das der Rockteil sehr schön glockig fällt und somit die Fettpölsterchen gut kaschiert. :) Und ich bin ja sowieso ein Fan von Kleidern, die nicht wie eine zweite Haut an einem sitzen...
Da ich nicht gerne Säume nähe und meine Zwillingsnadel mich nicht unbedingt so gerne hat, habe ich einfach einen Rollsaum gemacht. Hat zwar länger gedauert als ein normaler Saum, aber das ist mir tatsächlich lieber.
What I really like about that dress is the fact that you can "hide" any love handles in it. :) 

 Den Ausschnitt finde ich besonders schön, der macht ein wirklich schönes Dekolleté - und das sage ich...
Well, and about the neckline, I must say, I love it. 

Und nun hoffe ich, dass bald wieder so richtig viel schönes Wetter gibt und ich mehr Möglichkeiten habe, meine Gloria auszuführen.
